Hate AIDS/HIV? Then I have the party for you

Do you hate HIV/AIDS? What kind of question is that? Of course you do! Live in Austin? Then, have I got the party for you.

On July 20, Oilcan Harry’s – Austin’s premier gay nightclub since its debut in 1990 – will host Red Hot 2012 from 6-10 p.m. Everyone is welcome to the annual fundraiser started by Steve Higginbotham 21 years ago, raises money for Project Transitions.  The 501(c)3 non-profit has helped Central Texans living with HIV/AIDS since 1989 by providing hospice, housing and support in a compassionate and caring environment.

This year’s event will feature live entertainment by the cast of ‘Xanadu’ from ZACH Theatre, the cast of ‘Cabaret’ from City Theatre, The Austin Babtist Women, Julie Nelson, Grrlz Will Be Bois and other special guests.

Food will be provided by Sushi Zushi, Aesop’s Tables, Catering by Rose and other popular Austin restaurant and vendors, with specialty cocktails on tap from Red Stag brands and Pucker Vodka.

Throughout the festivities a silent auction will be held. There will be several items to bid on including a Public D8 touring bike from Austin’s own Mellow Johnny’s bike shop, owned by seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

Donations are still being accepted for the silent auction. For more information or to make a donation call OCH at (512) 320-8823 or email patrick@oilcanharrys.com.
